Showcasing the vibrancy of Chelsea's summer art exhibitions, galleries and art spaces through- out the neighborhood will welcome visitors on Thursday evening, July 26, for the Third Annual Chelsea Art Walk. Galleries will be open until 8pm hosting artist talks, receptions and special events. Chelsea Art Walk is free and open to the public, with festivities taking place from 5-8pm.
New programming for 2012 will be open studios with artists in Chelsea, providing visitors with the rare op- portunity to preview work in progress. In addition, Chelsea Art Walk has commissioned a performance by the vivacious Brooklyn-based collective Rudy's Meritocracy, who will offer theatrical guided tours.
Chelsea Art Walk is a community-wide collaborative event organized to encourage new audiences for excit- ing group exhibitions and special projects only on view during the summer. Over the last two years, Chelsea Art Walk has attracted thousands of visitors for this one-night-only event, spanning venues from 19th to 29th Street between 10th and 11th Avenue.
Chelsea Art Walk is sponsored by Izze, Jack from Brooklyn, Good Cents Bookkeeping, ArtToGift, M Magazine, The Double Seven and SD Fine Art Storage. Lead media sponsorship is provided by The New York Observer. A free venue map will be available at all locations.
