LaToya Ruby Frazier: A HAUNTED CAPITAL Exhibition to Open at Brooklyn Museum, 3/22

The exhibition, LaToya Ruby Frazier: A Haunted Capital, on view March 22 through August 11, explores the effects of industrialization and de-industrialization on the lives of individuals and communities through photographs of the artist's family and of Braddock, Pennsylvania, home of one of America's first steel mills. Located outside of Pittsburgh, Braddock has a population below 2,500 and has been declared a "distressed municipality" by the state of Pennsylvania.

Frazier, whose work is featured in the 2012 Whitney Biennial, is Associate Curator for the Mason Gross galleries and teaches photography at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey.

LaToya Ruby Frazier: A Haunted Capital was organized by Eugenie Tsai, John and Barbara Vogelstein Curator of Contemporary Art, Brooklyn Museum.

The museum is located at 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY.
