LEVIATHAN by Jade Townsend opens tonight, Sunday, April 22, 6pm–8pm, at the Lesley Heller Workspace (54 Orchard Street, Lower East Side, Manhattan). The exhibition runs through May 25.
Jade Townsend's imagery is steeped in a form of 19th C. fantasia that includes a strong spirit of invention, but there is also a gruesomeness here that makes his objects emotionally charged and abstract.
