On April 20, 2013, the doors of nearly 50 museums and art venues will stay open all night and hold over 200 special events as part of Düsseldorf's 13th "Night of the Museums."
The event is a major draw for art lovers and night revelers alike, who stay up all night for art instead of bars and clubs. Many venues feel like clubs - spaces filled to capacity, thousands more trying to get in, and DJs spinning music - and the event keeps growing year after year. More than 24,000 visited in 2012, a thousand more than the year before, and the numbers are expected to climb yet again. Supporting the hugely successful concept: All events are accessible on one ticket, with free transportation around the city. Tickets will go on sale at the end of March.
