Artist Claude Wampler returns to The Kitchen with the world premiere of N'a pas un gramme de charisme., from January 31 - February 3, 2013. N'a pas un gramme de charisme. is the long-awaited next iteration in her line of artistic inquiry into the value of liveness, prehension on prehension and the emancipation of the spectator. This piece, which combines choreography, music, text and spectacle was created in collaboration with Amelia Saul, as well as artists John Tremblay and Antonius Wiriadjaja.

Performances will run Thursday through Saturday, January 31 - February 2 at 8:00 P.M. and Sunday, February 3 at 5:00 P.M., each evening at The Kitchen (512 West 19th Street). Those interested in attending may request an invitation via the website: www.pascharisme.com. Tickets are available exclusively by invitation.

Since Wampler's last show PERFORMANCE (career ender), which premiered at The Kitchen in 2006 and toured through 2010, she has concentrated on the fabrication of large-scale sculptures that have exhibited internationally in museums and galleries. Having spent approximately eighteen years creating art works as well as live performance work, Wampler believed that PERFORMANCE (career ender) would be the last theatrical exploration of her career. But, in 2010, she met filmmaker and fellow artist Amelia Saul, whose presence compelled her to return to live work. With this new piece, Wampler and Saul continue questioning the flexibility of an audience and their inevitable and expanding expectations.

Claude Wampler is an artist who has been working in the fields of visual art and performance for the past eighteen years, exhibiting in The States and internationally in galleries, museums, theaters, and site-specific locations. For more information, go to www.claudewampler.com.

Amelia Saul is a filmmaker and performer based in Brooklyn, NY. She received her MFA at New York University, and has been a resident at Yaddo, ResidencyUnlimited in cooperation with Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education, and Banciao 435. This is her second collaboration with Claude Wampler. For more information, go to www.ameliasaul.net.
