CO's Northlgenn Arts and Humanities Foundation Calls for ART ON PARADE Sculpture Entries; Deadline 3/1

The Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) is conducting an open entry competition to select six sculptures, valued at no more than $25,000 each, to be part of Northglenn's 2013/2014 "Art on Parade" on-loan sculpture program. The winning pieces will be placed at E.B. Rains Junior Memorial Park surrounding Webster Lake in Northglenn, Colorado.

Each of the six finalists will receive a $600 honorarium to help offset expenses to the artists. In addition, $1,000 will be awarded to the artist who is the recipient of the annual "People's Choice Award."

Artists will receive substantial recognition and opportunity to sell; therefore, all pieces must be for sale. The placement of selected pieces will begin June 2013 and will be on display until May 2014.

Since the program's inception in 2001, the NAHF has purchased each of the People's Choice winning sculptures. Although the purchase of the People's Choice winner is not guaranteed, it is the goal of the foundation to purchase permanent art for the City of Northglenn through the program.

All submissions must be submitted via the CaFÉ website: www.callforentry.org. Complete application instructions may be obtained through the CaFÉ website. For additional questions, contact Michael Stricker at (303) 450-8727 or by email at artonparade@northglenn.org. Deadline for submission is March 1, 2013.

The Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) is a 501(c)3 organization that provides funding for quality youth theatre, public art, and other cultural endeavors in our community. NAHF was founded in 1990.

Submitted sculptures are to be garden-sized or larger (at least three feet in one dimension recommended) and valued at no more than $25,000.

Pieces must be ready for outdoor installation and have the capability to be welded to a 1/4" steel plate for installation. Another method for installation is a mounting system using no less than 3/8" bolts. If using the bolt system, a minimum of a three point bolting system is required.

Any durable outdoor medium is acceptable. It is imperative that submissions withstand the elements and abuse of an outdoor display. No hanging sculptures, wooden sculptures, or water features.

Please submit three images of ONE sculpture: two images clearly showing the front and back of the sculpture; one other showing detail. Be sure to show the scale of the work. NOTE: Multiple sculpture submissions are allowed. You must create a Café profile and registration for each piece submitted. In addition, you will need to upload a new set of images to each of your profiles. Registration content is not transferable from one account to another. Return to CaFE Registration to start a new profile.
