With 63 applications for its new Innovation Grant Program (IGP), the ASAE Foundation chose four winning projects. Each will receive up to $10,000, and the winners will be recognized during ASAE's 2013 Great Ideas Conference, March 10-12, at the Broodmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado. SunTrust Inc. is a major supporter of this initiative.
The four winners are:
- American Alliance Museums, Washington, DC-Exploration Grant
- Colorado Nonprofit Association, Denver, Colorado-Exploration Grant
- The Association of American Medical Colleges, Washington, DC-Travel Grant
- The International Association Diecutting and Diemaking, Crystal Lake, Illinois-Exploration Grant
"The quality of projects submitted this year was fantastic, and it was a very hard decision to narrow down the winners to just four," said Michelle Mason CQIA, FASAE, CAE, chair of the advisory committee and managing director at the American Society for Quality. "We are excited to help fund these innovative ideas because it will drive creativity and inspire our community in new ways that will not only bring value to their members, but to the global community."
ASAE Foundation received a broad range of applications from organizations with a wide range of types, sizes, locations, and industries. Executive summaries of the winning proposals are online, and ASAE Foundation will also publish an abstract of the other innovative projects that were submitted.
"Not only were we very pleased with the response we received, but also how these organizations approached the concept of innovation and how this could be applied throughout an organization," said ASAE Executive Vice President and President of the ASAE Foundation Susan Robertson, CAE. "The winning organizations did a great job in explaining how their projects directly benefit their organizations as well as how they would share these lessons and concepts with the association community."
